The catalogue, lending and returns, overdue books and fines.
Lend and take back books
The due date is set from the library’s rules. The loan appears here until the book comes back.
When a book comes back, open its loan and return it. A book returned late is fined by the day; a damaged or lost one stays off the shelf.
The books
Books lists every title and how many copies are on the shelf, out or damaged. Add a title with its author, subject and class, then its copies: each copy gets its own number, so you always know which one is where. Catalogue is what pupils and teachers see when they look for a book.
Overdue books and fines
Overdue loans are marked on the Lending Desk, with how many days late. Fines (on the Lending Desk) lists what each borrower owes; record a payment when it is paid, or waive a fine with a reason. Library Settings holds the rules: how many books at once, for how long, the fine per day, and the amount owed at which borrowing stops.
